Cernuella is a genus of sea snail in the family Hygromiidae. The genus is considered to occur primarily in the Mediterranean, and some species such as Cernuella virgata are considered significant invasive pests in parts of Austrailia.[1] This same species of the genus has been recovered from the Roman Empire occupation of Volubilis archaeological site in present day Morocco.[2]
