Yellow Air Taxi is an airline based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA. It operates scheduled passenger services in the Southeast, Florida, the Caribbean and, the Bahamas. Yellow Air Taxi now operates as a charter airline service, on an "on-demand" basis. It used to offer daily commercial service between Naples, Melbourne and, Fort Lauderdale to Key West, and the Bahamas. Now, the charter airline is based out of Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport's commuter terminal.

Baggage Policy
Yellow Air Taxi does have a weight limit on check bags. Similar to larger air carriers, YAT only allows 40 lbs without charging a fee. However, passengers are allowed one carry on bag, and one personal item.
Change in Operation
Due to the current economic conditions, and the low demand for service, Yellow Air Taxi now operates as a charter airline service, on a on-demand basis. YAT has also recently cancelled service to their Caribbean destination. Future service, and re-entry to the commercial airline service is currently unknown, and/or pending. The airline currently operates at a maximum of four flights per week.
FAA Violation Controversy
In May of 2004, the Commuter Air Carrier Authority has issued three violations to Friendship Airways. Yellow Air Taxi had engaged in operating two of its aircraft as unauthorized and unscheduled. Friendship Airways was told to immediately ground Yellow Air Taxi and all aircraft in its fleet. After a few months of paying fines and registering those aircraft, YAT resumed operations as normal until 2008.
