Dubravka Šuica is the former mayor of Dubrovnik, Croatia. She served two terms, and was the first female mayor in Dubrovnik's history. Elected first in 2001, she is a member of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) and also sits in the Croatian Sabor (parliament). She is the president of the Croatian delegation to the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe and also vice-president of the Congress itself. In 2006 she was elected one of the Top 10 World Mayors at the competition organized by World Mayor.

She lost her mandate in the 2009 local elections to Andro Vlahušić, the former Minister of Health in the run-off second round on 31 May 2009. However, she retains her seat in Parliament.

Biography

Šuica was born in Dubronik on May 20, 1957. She is married to Stijepo, a serving captain on a cruise liner.
