POLENG - is a transfer text-to-text Polish-English Machine Translation system. It operates on an electronic dictionary annotated for morphological, syntactic, and partly semantic information.[1]
History
1996-2002 Student's project
In the beginning, for the first six years of it's existence Poleng was the Student's project developed on Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan and it gave rise from studies for Krzysztof's Jassem.[2]
2003 - Founding of POLENG
In 2003 as the result of cooperation with PWN Publishing House and Pwn.pl Company the POLENG Company was found, and the Head of Board function was given to Krzysztof Jassem From now on POLENG Company is producer of Translatica Systems, and the only publisher and distributor for Poland is Pwn.pl
2004 - Translatica ver. 1.0
In 2004 the first version of Translatica was created. It was made with two editions Standart and Pro, which made translations from Polish to English, and from English to Polish.[3]
2005 - Translation Office
In 2005 POLENG opened a translation office which unites a traditional translation systems with and new MT systems created by company. Translation office operates and interprets texts from Polish to German, English and Russian, and many many other languages, depending on clients wishes.
Translatica
Translatica software is a group of translation systems employing contemporary machine translation technologies. Translatica offers more accurate translation methods, expanded vocabulary, faster translation and a modern interface.
- Translatica Office is designed to cooperate with MS Office suite, translating directly in MS Word, MS Excell, MS PowerPoint and MS Outlook. Translatica Office is a solution for companies, institutions and offices, and also for advanced users..[4]
- Translatica Server – most advanced MT system existing on a Polish market, operating in a network environment, combines all advantages of all translatica programs such as syntactic analysis of whole sentences, time-efficient performance, large vocabulary resources or integration with leading office and internet software.[5]
- Translatica Premium - for Home users.
- Translatica Enterprise - Technical dictionaries for finance, business, administration, security, medicine, computer science, construction, European Union.[6]
