Jorm is a village in Jämtland County, northern Sweden. It overlooks a lake with islands, Lake Jormvattnet, and is overshadowed by a mountain, Jormliklumpen. It is a picturesque region and is used by tourists for horse riding and hiking. In the 20th century a Swede who was hunting in the area injured himself and was rescued by the locals. He adopted the name Jorm and the Jorms now live in Sweden and Australia. Probably the best known Jorm is Australian Psychiatric Epidemiology Professor Anthony Jorm. |
