Civic Area (Italian: Area Civica, AC) is a progressive political party in Italy.[1]

Its leader is Giulio Santagata a former minister in the second government of Romano Prodi.

Civic Area is formed by former Olivists (a faction of Democracy is Freedom the Democratic Party, whose members were close to Prodi) and former members of the Progressive Camp (a short-lived party founded and led by Giuliano Pisapia).[2].

On 14 December members of AC, launched a joint list with the Italian Socialist Party and the Federation of the Greens, named Together.[3]
