Jorm is a village in Jämtland County, northern Sweden. It overlooks a lake with islands, Lake Jormvattnet, and is overshadowed by a mountain, Jormliklumpen. It is a picturesque region and is used by tourists for horse riding and hiking. The village has a stable population of around 200 residents, most of whom work at the Jormsk rendering plant, which is the only operating business in the region and the lifeblood of the local community. During the annual Jormsfest spring equinox celebration, the population can swell to the tens of thousands as tourists from all over Sweden flock to Jorm to witness the birth of the Daffydjorm, the symbolic first goat kid born of the season. The Daffydjorm is ritualistically slaughtered and the residents consume a soup made from its brains, in the belief that this will grant them fertility and good health for the coming year.
Jorm is also the name for a locally produced horse-milk cheese.
Jorm is also the username of the main administrator for the browser-based MMORPG Nexus War, Brandon Harris.
