Chippenham
Chippenham, a market town in Wiltshire, England.
The market is probably no longer of major importance to the economy of the town.
The largest employer in the town appears to be Westinghouse, now a part of Invensys, who are quite busy with railway signalling work, as they have been for many years. Parts of their site are now occupied by a diverse range of other companies. There are a number of other industrial sites around the town.
The main street in town is pedestrianised, car parking is available at several sites around the centre. Short-term parking is free beneath the Somerfield supermarket. There are several pleasnt cafes and other eating establishments, and the possibility of a stroll along the riverbank.
There is not much tourist accomodation actually in Chippenham, but some within a few miles, particularly along the A4 Bath Road through Corsham and Box, or on several local farms. Search Google with Chippenham "Bed and Breakfast", you will find plenty.
