Peter Laviolette (Born: December 7, 1964 in Franklin, Massachusetts, USA-) is an American former National Hockey League defenceman and current head coach. As of the 2003-04 NHL season, he has been head coach of the Carolina Hurricanes. He has also coached the New York Islanders and Boston Bruins. As a player, he played for the New York Rangers, among other minor league teams.
