Microprose Systems, LLC. was a video game accessories, and consumer electronics developer, reformed from the MicroProse brand in 2007.

History

During the Summer of 2007, the Microprose brand was acquired from Frederic Chesnais to form Microprose Systems LLC.[citation needed] A website was launched in February 2008, and an initial product lineup of consumer electronics, cabling, power products, and game controllers were announced. Initial public reaction to the relaunching of the MicroProse brand was mixed. [1][2]

As of Spring 2008, Microprose Blue's currently announced products include an NTIA certified[4][5] digital television receiver, HDMI device switcher, cabling, a PSP combined battery/stand, and a line of game controllers. The products are expected to be available in retail channels during late spring/early summer 2008. They have also stated software development has begun,[6] however no further information is currently available.

In September 2008, Legacy Engineering informed that it would no longer be licensing the Microprose name from its owner Frederic Chesnais of I2G. Subsequently, the Microprose Systems website is no longer hosted or maintained by Legacy Consumer Electronics which has moved on to produce the listed hardware products directly under its own brand to complete its separation from any further business dealings with Fred Chesnais and his I2G company, the owner of Microprose.
