Ulysses Doubleday (August 31, 1824 – February 11, 1893) was an American Union brevet brigadier general during the period of the American Civil War. He was the brother of the much more famous Civil War general Abner Doubleday and the son of War of 1812 veteran Ulysses F. Doubleday. He served as a major and commander of the 4th New York Heavy Artillery and on the staff of his brother. He later served with the 3rd United States Colored Troops and as colonel led the 45th United States Colored Troops. [1] He received his appointment as brevet brigadier general dated to March 1865.[2]
