Yuima Nakazato (Japanese: 中里 唯馬, 1985-[1]) is a Japanese fashion designer based in Tokyo and Paris. Nakazato opened his own label YUIMA NAKAZATO in 2009. In 2016, the Japanese designer was invited as an official guest designer of the Parisian Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture, part of the Fédération française de la couture. Since then, Nakazato has continuously exhibited his new collections at Haute Couture Week. He began making clothes by self-education before entering the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp's Fashion Department[2]. Nakazato’s graduation collection in 2008 earned multiple awards in Europe, including at ITS in Trieste where he was selected twice – in two separate years – and in two different contest fields, fashion and accessories[3]. Shoe designs created during his study at the Royal Academy were put into the Antwerp Mode Museum (MoMu) for permanent preservation. The brand’s vision for the future of mankind is one in which ‘Eventually, each and every garment will be unique and different.’ By offering apparel which balances craftsmanship with technology, Nakazato aims to bring tailor-made clothes to a wider range of people[4].
