Modified?

If I recall correctly from several presentations at engineering conferences, the original network tied arch proposal had the arch resting directly on the piers. When citizen advisory committee members said it looked odd, the V-shaped structures under the approach spans were added. Therefore, it was designated as the modified network tied arch proposal, to differentiate it from the original network tied arch proposal.

So, is it accurate to say the structure type is a "modified network arch," when the modifications were to the piers and approach girders, not to the arch itself?--Triskele Jim 01:38, 9 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
