abstract This refers to a method for controlling the flow rate of water or other fluids in underground oil reservoirs and of an adjustable flow regulator for preferential use with this method. The method basically consists of adding small and controlled quantities of a gas to the water, reducing the speed of sound, which facilitates critical runoff through the flow regulator, particularly those equipped with venturi. The flow regulator has a central body in a conical housing allowing the adjustment of the open runoff area and, consequently of the flow rate, by the actuation of an actuator. Used in conjunction with the method, it increases the benefits, since, among other advantages, the same regulator can cover a wide range of injection flows.
