titleOfInvention | Methods for identifying modulators of rgs21 activity, compositions comprising an rgs21 modulator, and methods of use thereof to modulate taste sensation |
abstract | Abstract The present invention provides methods for identifying compounds that selectively and specifically modulate RGS21 gene expression, RGS21 protein expression, and/or the 5 interaction of RGS2 I with G proteins in taste signal transduction. In particular, the present invention provides methods for identifying modulators of RGS21 activity for enhancing sweet taste, or other taste perception. Compositions comprising modulators of RGS21 activity for modulating taste signaling transduction are also provided. |
