titleOfInvention Reception device, reception method, transmission device, and transmission method
abstract This technology is related to a reception device, a reception method, a transmission device, and a transmission method which enable an emergency warning service to be provided which is more suitable for real-world operation. Provided is a reception device which is provided with: a reception unit for receiving a physical layer frame transmitted as a broadcast signal, on the basis of monitoring information which is included in upper layer signaling, i.e. signaling of a higher layer than a physical layer, and which is for monitoring a specific service; and a demodulation unit which demodulates physical layer signaling obtained from the physical layer frame, and monitors whether emergency warning information is being transmitted on the basis of emergency warning notification information obtained as a result of the demodulation. The reception device starts automatically if the emergency warning notification information indicates that the emergency warning information is being transmitted. This technology is applicable to a transmission system which transmits a physical layer frame conforming to the DVB-T2 standard.
