HYDROCHLORY SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING FOOD IN DIABETES |
abstract |
The system consists of a carbohydrate mixture of fructose and at least one easily digestible source of glucose polymer. Fructose is added to reduce the glycemic response compared to the self-administered digestible glucose polymer. Additional components may be added to the mixture to form a carbohydrate system suitable for inclusion in an enteral feed. The system optionally includes nonabsorbable carbohydrates, dietary fiber indigestible oligosaccharides. The invention also relates to an enteral diet comprising a two-component carbohydrate mixture and fat with less than 37% calories, as well as a method of providing nutrients to diabetic people by eating with that food. |
