OBTAINING INJECTION SUSPENSIONS HAVING IMPROVED INJECTION COMPETENCE |
abstract |
Injectable compositions include microparticles in an aqueous injection vehicle having a viscosity of at least 20 ps at 200C. The increased viscosity of the injection vehicle, which is the liquid phase of the suspension, significantly reduces the inappropriate injection in vivo. The injectable composition may be prepared by mixing dry microparticles with an aqueous injection vehicle to form a suspension. The suspension is mixed with a viscosity enhancing agent to increase the viscosity of the liquid phase to the desired level in order to improve the injectability. |
