The invention relates to ligands for nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChR), to the activation of nAcHRs and to the treatment of disease conditions associated with underdeveloped or impaired nicotinic acetylcholine receptors, in particular in the brain. The invention further relates to novel indazole and benzothiazole compounds which act as ligands for the alpha7 nAChR subtype, to methods of preparing these compounds, to compositions containing the compounds, and to methods of using them. |
