The invention relates to a method that includes receiving process related information describing a process for producing a product, including a logical sequence of tasks (902) for producing respective internal products of the process. The method also includes building a schedule for the process based on process related information, with the process schedule serving to perform at least some of the tasks (902) each of which uses or requires records including a last record temporarily . The construction of the process schedule includes the separation of each of the at least some of the respective tasks (902) into a closing part that requires the availability of the last record of its task before it starts, and a separate precursor part (906) able to start before the last respective record is available. The closure parts (904) of the respective tasks (902) can be time-sequenced without intervention precursor parts (906), and the precursor parts (906) can be pre-attached to the respective time-sequenced closure parts (904)
