processes for the production of diaminobutane (dab), succinic dinitrile (sdn) and succinamide (dam). The present invention relates to processes which include providing a fermentation broth containing clarified diammonium succinate (s) or monoammonium succinate (mas): distilling the broth from an upper part including water to ammonia, and a liquid lower part containing includes sa, and at least 20% by weight of water; cooling the lower part to a temperature sufficient to cause the lower part to separate into a liquid part in contact with a solid part that is substantially pure; separate the solid part from the liquid part; and converting the solid part to produce nitrogen containing compounds such as diamino butane (dab), succinic dinitrile (sdn), succinic amino nitrile (san) or succinamide (dam) and downstream products. |
