titleOfInvention method for producing sulfur and sulfuric acid
abstract the present invention relates to a process installation comprising a claus reaction furnace, a claus gas cooling medium, a claus conversion section, a claus residual gas oxidation medium and a sulfuric acid section, in which the furnace reaction claus has an inlet and an outlet, the gas cooling medium claus has a gas inlet, a gas outlet and optional an elemental sulfur outlet, the claus conversion section has a gas inlet, a gas outlet and an elemental sulfur outlet, the sulfur oxidation medium has an inlet and an outlet and the sulfuric acid section has a gas inlet, a gas outlet and a sulfuric acid outlet, and in which the furnace inlet claus reaction is configured to receive a feed charge gas, sulfuric acid, fuel and an oxidizer, and the claus reaction furnace outlet is configured to be in fluid communication with the inlet of the claus gas cooling medium, in which the exit from the cooling medium all of the claus gas is configured to be in fluid communication with the inlet of the claus conversion section and in which the inlet of the medium for oxidation of the claus residual gas for sulfur oxidation is configured to be in fluid communication with the outlet of said outlet of gas from the claus conversion section, the exit of the medium for oxidation of the claus residual gas is configured to be in fluid communication with the inlet of the sulfuric acid section, additionally characterized in the sulfuric acid outlet of the sulfuric acid section to be in fluid communication with the entrance of said claus reaction furnace, as well as a related process. the process has the associated benefit of such a process to avoid unwanted sulfuric acid production, as well as to reduce the volume of claus process gas.
