abstract expanded polystyrene crusher and compactor the present utility model relates to equipment designed to assist in the crushing and compacting of expanded polystyrene (eps), thus falling within the area of solid waste management. This machine aims at compacting 40 times the initial volume of the eps, thus enabling its transport to the recycling centers. The eps is inserted into the equipment through a feed funnel. Through a single drive shaft coupled to a gearmotor system, the power required to transport, crush and precompress material is acquired. Transport and precompression are performed on a helical profile conveyor with different steps and cross sections in the described stages. In the transport stage shredders called shear knives are added to the shear, thus allowing crushing in the initial transport phase. the so-called gate component will limit the passage, thereby increasing the compaction rate through a pressing process. Finally, at the output of the equipment there is the compressed eps in square cross section and can be cut to any length unit according to
