abstract | ABSTRACT Improved process for preparing quinacridone pigment by oxidizing the corresponding dihydroquinacridone wherein the dihydroquinacridone is oxidized in the liquid organic medium in which it is prepared using FeCl3 and, optionally, in the presence of N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone. The process eliminates the need to isolate the dihydroquin-acridone prior to oxidation and enables recovery of the organic liquid employed. |
