Catalyst pellets with resin binder for decomposition of hypochlorite and method of use |
abstract |
ABSTRACT An improved catalyst form and a process for its use in decomposition of aqueous hypochlorite in fixed beds are disclosed. The improved catalysts in the form of a serous catalyst matrix compris? a substance which is known to catalyze decomposition of hypochlorite and an organic thermoplastic resin binder, e.g., a polyolefin. The use of the organic resin reduces or eliminates some of the problems associated with the catalysts, per se, such as disintegration during use. |
