Disclosed is a composition for water treatment and for alkaline cleaning, which contains polyaspartic acid or a derivative thereof and a phosphonic acid. The composition is used for inhibiting the formation of scale or corrosion in water, such as cooling water or as a sequestrant or encrustation inhibitor in an alkaline cleaning solution, such as, for food processing equipment. |
