| abstract | Disclosed is a blowing agent containing catalyst precursor consisting essentially of: a) a blowing agent comprising formic acid, or a mixture of formic acid and water; b) a tertiary amine blowing catalyst fully blocked with an organic carboxylic acid; and c) a tertiary amine gel catalyst fully blocked by an organic carboxylic acid; wherein the total number of carboxylic acid group equivalent including the carboxylic acid groups blocking in the form, is greater than 1.0 per amino group. This precursor can be used for the preparation of a polyol composition having good flow characteristics which in turn makes a rigid polyurethane having good dimensional stability at low densities. |
