abstract |
The invention relates to an electric pod drive system for a vessel, which has a water-circulating aerodynamic electric motor adapted to a drive pod, wherein said pod is arranged on the bottom of the vessel by means of a hollow shaft. The heat generated by the electric motor along the surface of the drive pod is conveyed to the circulating water. The heat is dissipated in the water by the drive pod and the shaft through heat dissipation surfaces. Means are used for improved heat conduction and dissipation. |
