A process for the dehydrogenation of organic compounds, in particular paraffins and naphthenes, is described in the presence of a supported catalyst containing a Group VIII metal, such as platinum, and tin of which at least a part is in strong interaction with the Group VIII metal in the reduced catalyst. The catalyst contains, in the partially oxidized state, at least 10% of the tin in the form of a species reduced to the oxidation state 0, said species having an isomeric displacement IS of between 0.80 and 2.60 mm / s and a quadrupole burst of between 0.65 and 2.00 mm / s. |
