Nucleoside analogs and their prodrug forms include a sugar moiety and a heterocyclic base moiety, wherein especially preferred sugar moieties includ e ribofuranose, and particularly preferred base moieties include diazole and triazole. Contemplated compounds may be employed in pharmaceutical compositions, which may be used to treat an infection, an infestation, a neoplasm, or an autoimmune disease. Further contemplated uses include immunomodulation, and particularly modulation of Type 1 and Type 2 cytokine expression. |
