| abstract | A washing tank (38) and a screw conveyor (32) are attached to an attaching port (22) in a filter tank (2) so that they can be inserted in and removed from the attaching port. For removal, a pedestal (28) supporting the screw conveyor (32) is removed from a rim (24), whereby it can be extracted outward from the filter tank (2) for exchange. When the washing tank (38) and the screw conveyor (32) are extracted from the attaching port (22) and then inserted therein, the washing water is caused to flow backward from a washing water discharge pipe (60) to float a filter-out material (14) to reduce the resistance produced by the filter-out material (14). |
