abstract A ballistic laminate structure includes a first high-performance unifabric composite. The unifabric composite incorporates an array of unidirectionally oriented fiber bundles carried on a fiber-stabilizing scrim and having a tensile strength greater than 7 grams per denier. A second high-performance unifabric composite includes an array of high performance, unidirectionally-oriented fiber bundles. The fiber bundles of the second composite are carried on a fiber-stabilizing scrim and have a tensile strength greater than 7 grams per denier. The first and second unifabric composites are cross-plied at an angle and banded together to form the ballistic laminate structure.
