Fungal biosensor for the detection of arsenic ions |
abstract |
The present invention provides a method of detecting arsenic contamination based on the use of a fungal biosensor. The fungal biosensor is genetically modified to include an expression vector, comprising the promoter of the acrA gene ortholog, for expressing a detectable protein in the presence of arsenic. In some embodiments, the fungal biosensor can also genetically modified to limit/repress the expression of an acrA gene ortholog. |
