A fluidjet system for electro-coating a surface of a part includes a jig for holding the part and a nozzle having a water inlet for receiving pressurized water and a particle inlet for receiving coating particles, the nozzle entraining the coating particles into a mixing chamber to generate a particle-entrained fluidjet capable of coating the surface of the part. The system includes an electric field generator for generating an electric field downstream of the nozzle to thereby charge the coating particles passing through the electric field, wherein the electric field generator comprises a switch for activating and deactivating the electric field. |
