titleOfInvention | Process for the production of penicillins |
abstract | (A) Penicillin derivs. (I) R = phenyl, substd. phenyl, furyl or thienyl. Preferred compounds have R = phenyl or 3-thienyl. (B) Non-toxic salts of A such as metal salts, ammonium- and substd. ammonium salts e.g. trialkylamines, procaine, dibenzylamine, N-benzyl-beta-phenethylamine, 1-ephenamine, N,N'-dibenzylethylenediamine, dehydroabietylamine, N,N'-bisdehydroabietylethylenediamine and other amines used for the forming of salts with benzylpenicillin. Anti-bacterial activity; where R = phenyl or 3-thienyl (I) are very active in the treatment of infections caused by Pseudomonas bacteria such as Ps.pyocyanea. |
