titleOfInvention Dry printing of non-textile materials by vapor transfer
abstract Support such as a sheet or strip of flexible, thermally stable material, such as paper or paper bonded to Al foil, has one of its surfaces wholly or partly covered in opt. sequence with at least two thin layers of organic material, at least one of the layers being coloured and contg. dyes and/or optical brighteners vaporising at 160-220 degrees C as well as binders which are stable within this temp. range, and at least one of the other layers consisting of an albuminaceous material, which is thermally stable in this temp. range. Used for printing and dyeing plastics. A coloured pattern can be transferred to the plastic by heating the support at 160-220 degrees C so that evaporation or sublimation of the dye or optical brightener occurs.
