titleOfInvention | 16-Substituted 16-hydroxyprostanoic, 5-prostenoic and -prostadienoic acid esters and processes for their preparation |
abstract | 16-Substituted 16-hydroxyprostanoic, 5-prostenoic and -prostadienoic acid esters correspond to the formula: <IMAGE> Racemic mixtures of compounds of this formula and mirror images thereof are also possible. R1 denotes a methyl or ethyl radical, R2 an alkyl radical having 2 to 7 carbon atoms, and T denotes one of the following divalent radicals: <IMAGE> in which R5 denotes a vinyl or cyclopropyl group, Z denotes -(CH2)6- or <IMAGE> and C13-C14 denotes ethylene or trans-vinylene. These compounds are used therapeutically, inter alia as hypotensives, oxytocics, for the prophylaxis and treatment of thrombosis and of gastric ulcer, for example intravenously, intramuscularly, subcutaneously, orally, intravaginally, rectally, sublingually, topically and in the form of sterile implants with a prolonged duration of action. |
