abstract | Provided is a method for manufacturing a laminated body having a hydrophobic resin base material and an alignment layer containing an organic dye. The method has a step (1) of performing plasma processing to the surface of the hydrophobic resin base material, under an atmosphere with a nitrogen concentration of 80% or more; and a step (2) of forming the alignment layer, which contains the organic dye, on the hydrophobic resin base material, by applying a solution, which contains the organic dye exhibiting lyotropic liquid crystal characteristics and a hydrophilic solvent, onto the surface of the hydrophobic resin base material processed with plasma, and drying the solution. By such laminated body manufacturing method, the solution can be substantially uniformly applied on the surface of the hydrophobic resin base material, and the alignment layer having reduced number of defects is formed. |
