abstract |
Disclosed is a rare earth sintered magnet (10) which comprises: a magnet base body that contains a rare earth compound; and a protective layer that is arranged on the magnet base body and comprises a first layer and a second layer that are sequentially arranged from the magnet base body side. The surface portion of the magnet base body has a higher heavy rare earth element content than the inside portion of the magnet base body, said inside portion being surrounded by the surface portion. The first layer contains a rare earth oxide and has a mass ratio of the heavy rare earth elements to the light rare earth elements of 1 or more. The second layer contains an oxide that contains iron and/or boron and is different from the rare earth oxide. The second layer has a lower rare earth oxide content than the first layer. |
