The present invention discloses a method for preparing a metal-exchanged crystalline microporous metal aluminophosphate or a mixture containing a metal-exchanged microporous metal aluminophosphate material, the method comprising the steps of: providing a dry mixture comprising: a ) one or more metal aluminophosphate starting materials exhibiting ion exchange capacity, and b) one or more metal compounds; heating the mixture in an atmosphere containing ammonia to a temperature and for a time sufficient to initiate and performing solid state ion exchange of ions of the metal compound and ions of the crystalline microporous material; and obtaining a metal-exchanged microporous metal aluminophosphate material or a mixture containing the metal-exchanged microporous metal aluminophosphate material. |
