abstract The present invention relates to a new method for starting up the heating of reforming reactors in ammonia synthesis plants, wherein the conventional use of gas heaters is replaced by induction heating. This induction heating is obtained by using an alternating high-frequency current which is passed through an induction coil located inside the reactor, in particular installed in the pressure vessel. This method makes it possible to run the reaction at high temperature and pressure in a very efficient manner.
