abstract |
The present disclosure discloses an exemplary optical filter that may include: an angular blocking layer having a first angular light blocking range θ AL relative to the normal axis; and an adjacent angular blocking layer of an interference filter having a second angular light blocking range θ IF relative to the normal axis. Theta IF and theta AL at least partially overlap. Exemplary optical filters have a predetermined light transmission area relative to the normal axis of the major surface, the predetermined light transmission area including an angle from 0° to a maximum light transmission angle θ Tmax . The exemplary optical filter has a predetermined angular light blocking region θ B , which is the union of θ IF and θ AL . Exemplary optical filters may include interference filters having incident angle dependent reflection bands and absorbing layers having absorption bands. The angle of incidence dependent reflection and absorption bands may overlap at at least one wavelength at at least one angle of incidence. |
