The present invention relates to a thermoplastic bonding process for acoustically treating linear facing sheets. A sandwich acoustic liner assembly includes a honeycomb core and a sheet of thermoplastic fabric positioned in a stacked relationship with respect to the honeycomb core and structurally bonded to the honeycomb core. Further included is a method for making a sandwich acoustic liner assembly, the method comprising the steps of: positioning a thermoplastic fabric sheet in a stacked relationship relative to a honeycomb core; and structurally bonding the thermoplastic fabric sheet to the The honeycomb core. |
