The present invention provides methods of treating human patients with lidocaine ineffective disorders or hypokalemia disorders by administering potassium elevating agents or potassium, alone or in combination with additional agents. Patients suitable for the treatment regimens described herein include those diagnosed with hypokalemic disorders, attention disorders, Asperger's syndrome, sensory hyperstimulation syndrome (SOS), sensory processing disorders, sensory integration disorders, fibromyalgia, Patients with various pain syndromes and/or PMS.
