titleOfInvention Application of TRF2 or its up-regulator in the preparation of medicaments for the treatment of muscle diseases
abstract The present invention relates to the application of TRF2 or its up-regulator in preparing medicine for treating muscle diseases. The present invention found that human skeletal muscle TRF2 protein level is negatively correlated with age; TRF2 in human striated muscle decreases with the aging of mitotic cells, and compared with mitotic cells, down-regulation of TRF2 in differentiated myotubes does not lead to telomere depletion protection, but instead triggers potent oxidative stress with concurrent increases in reactive oxygen species (ROS), mitochondrial dysfunction, FOXO3a activation, and autophagy. Therefore, TRF2 or its up-regulator can be used to prepare drugs for the treatment of related muscle diseases, or to screen drugs suitable for the treatment of related muscle diseases; reagents for detecting TRF2 protein or gene levels can be used to prepare reagents or reagents for detecting individual muscle physiological age box.
