abstract | The invention belongs to the field of organic synthesis, and relates to a method for synthesizing a benzimidazole compound based on an iron-catalyzed redox coupling reaction. The method takes an o-nitroaniline compound and an alcohol compound as raw materials, and generates the benzimidazole compound through an iron-catalyzed redox coupling reaction in the presence of an iron catalyst and a proton donor. The method provides a new approach for synthesizing the benzimidazole medicaments and the pesticides. Compared with the traditional method for synthesizing the benzimidazole compound by taking the o-phenylenediamine compound and the carboxylic acid or the carboxylic acid derivative as raw materials, the method disclosed by the invention improves the atom utilization rate of the whole process, and reduces the production cost and the three-waste pollution generated in the production process. |
