Disclosed herein are methods of using cationic alkyl polyglycosides in scale control compositions to reduce microbial and/or biofilm growth in aqueous systems. The disclosed methods or compositions have been found to be more effective in reducing microbial or biofilm growth in aqueous systems than those methods or compositions that include commonly used single quaternary compounds. |
