The present disclosure relates to wake-up radio assisted WLAN power saving techniques, and in particular provides a dual-radio AP including both high-power (e.g., Wi-Fi) and low-power (e.g., BLE) radios, which may support an assisted wake-up service for a power-limited dual-radio mobile device (STA). The power-limited STA may register with the AP for assisted wake-up services and may then disable its Wi-Fi radio (or otherwise initiate a low-power mode). The power limited STA may receive BLE communications indicating that the AP has pending Wi-Fi transmissions or updates applicable to the power limited STA. In response, the power limited STA may turn on its Wi-Fi radio and receive pending transmissions or updates from the AP. If the AP does not include low power radio, the high power/low power dual radio STA, which is not power limited, may be used as a secondary wake-up service agent. The proxy may scan and track Wi-Fi beacons from the AP and generate BLE communications on behalf of the AP to the power-limited STAs. |
