abstract The invention discloses an MPC-based battery balancing control method and device. The method steps include: S1. Constructing a predictive control model of a battery cell; S2. Obtaining the SOC value and voltage value of a single battery in real time, and performing an analysis on all battery cells based on the MPC method. The predictive control model is simulated and predicted, the optimal equilibrium threshold and equilibrium center point of the predictive control model are obtained, and the real-time transfer power of each single battery is predicted; S3. According to the optimal equilibrium threshold obtained in real time , the balance center point and the predicted real-time transfer power of each single battery to perform balance control on the controlled battery pack. The invention can realize the balance among the battery cells, reduce the inconsistency among the battery cells, at the same time reduce the number of ineffective charge and discharge between the single cells, and effectively improve the balance efficiency.
