An outdoor unit of an air conditioning apparatus includes a casing, and a heat exchanger, an outdoor fan, a compressor, and electric components housed in the casing, and includes: a main air passage in which an outdoor fan and a heat exchanger are arranged; and a machine chamber in which the compressor and the electric component are disposed. The housing includes a machine chamber side panel that constitutes a side surface of an outer shell of the machine chamber, and the machine chamber side panel includes: a vent for allowing external air to flow into the internal flow of the machine chamber; and a shielding portion extending obliquely downward toward the inner side of the machine chamber. The shielding portion is located inside the air vent, and the electric component is arranged above the shielding portion. |
